News agency IANS quoted sources in its report and wrote, “Yes, Akshar Patel can be the next captain of Delhi Capitals for IPL-2025. The franchise had asked KL Rahul about becoming the captain, but he has said that he will contribute to the team as a player.”
Akshar Patel has been with Delhi since 2019. Delhi bought him for Rs 18 crore. He recently showed a strong performance in the Champions Trophy. Akshar contributed significantly to the team’s success with both bat and ball. He was also the vice-captain of India in the T20 series played against England.
